Pretty Little Liars Gets Some Pretty Little Brothers!

If the current eye candy on Pretty Little Liars wasn't enough to get you through your summer, don't worry - two of Rosewood's most beautiful men, Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) and Noel Kahn (Brant Daugherty) are about to add another branch to their family trees. And these new branches didn't make the tree any less beautiful.

Robbie Arnell, last seen on Revenge as Charlotte's ex, will be playing Noel Kahn's older brother. He's only signed for one episode, but we're told the role could be recurring.

Gregg Sulkin will be playing the younger, equally as cute, brother to Ezra Fitz. We're not sure about anything else related to his role, but we can only hope that he causes some trouble in the "Ezria" relationship because they've been happy for a little too long...

Fashion Friday: Nail Trends!

Here at SexyTrash we cover fashion from head to toe, how could we leave out fingertips?  Every good human being, men and women alike, enjoy a good manicure.

For men, it's a clear coat (or no coat) and they're out the door.  For ladies, we have a tough decision to make.  Do we play it safe with a french mani or be bold with some of the latest neon colors?  Lately I've been dabbling in the "paint one nail a different color" trend.  Anyone else?

Let's dive in to see what everyone is wearing on their nails these days.  What's your opinion?  Do you go fake and add tips, or are you au-natural?

Miss Zooey is notorious for her ever-changing nail art.  I'm digging the color, but don't those bows get in the way?
source

Another superstar that is quite well-known for her crazed out nails is the lovely Katy Perry.  Here two shots of hers, including a little extra decor ...

Rhianna loves this claw-trend.  I for one, love to hate it.
source

Same goes for Lady Gaga.  You're going to tell me you haven't stabbed any of your little monster with those finger fangs yet?

Khloe & Kylie keep it simple.  I'm liking the nautical theme Kylie!

My girl Hilary Duff is following my favorite trend, the "one nail a different color" thang.  I'm digging the bright hues Hil, you go girl!

Here's my latest "one nail a different color" creation.  I think I'm liking the silver choice here...

What is your favorite way to decorate your nails this summer?  Do you prefer any of these trends or do you keep 'em simple?  Have a wonderful weekend everyone, stay cool & fabulous.
XoXo, Jes

Call Me Maybe: Johnny Depp

We all felt it, that tingling in our heart and in our pants, when the news dropped today about Johnny Depp's split from longtime partner Vanessa Paradis. We don't need to explain ourselves here. There's something about this "edgy" "mysterious" and "sultry" man that makes us want to go on every crazy theatrical adventure he goes on.

So, here's our number Johnny. Please sweet Jesus call us....maybe.

Fashion Friday: Matchy-Matchy

When I was young, my parents & grandparents would dress my cousins and I up alike.  It was cute ... up until about age 8.  Actually I take that back, nothing about the 90s was cute...

Anyone else into Goosebumps back in the day?

With that being said, I think a few celebs need to reevaluate their matching styles.  This post was inspired by none other than Kimmy K's recent tweets.  She's all bout the matching footwear lately...

"His & Hers! #AirYeezys"
(This is totally a Kayne thing, he was notorious for having matching kicks with Amber Rose)

Let's weigh in.  What do you think about the matching style?  Shoes are one thing, but what about when it comes to an entire outfit?  I'm not talking about wearing a similar color to compliment your significant other, I'm talking about the faux paux that is this ...

source
David & Victoria partied like it was 1999 (which it was) in Versace leather.  Wow.

Since they're royalty, & oh so good looking, I'll let them pass.

Really Selena ... really?  You're way too cute for this.

Justin must LOVE the matchy-matchy look.
Thank goodness he's toned it down in the past 10 years.

source
I'll give them a pass, since this was a holiday 'n all.
But is that a pumpkin?  What holiday was this exactly?

What are your thoughts on matching celeb couples/families?  Did your family ever dress you up to match siblings/cousins?  I'd love to hear & see it.

Happy Friday everyone!
XO, Jes

Bethenny Frankel: Live and In Person!

There's no easy way to break into this without sounding god-awful.

I saw Bethenny Frankel last night.

That's right, arguably the most successful woman of the Bravo Network's franchise BEAST was mere inches away from me last night.

And she was amazing.

Yesterday, Bethenny debuted her brand new daytime talk show, and came out to Philly for the night to celebrate! While I did try to actually meet her (and trust me, I TRIED), I ended up being right by the velvet ropes as she made her entrance. And though I thought that not meeting her would be a total buzz kill, I could not have been more wrong. I mean hey, when her signature cocktails are on special, how could the buzz have been killed?

There has been a murmuring of Bethenny getting her own talk show for literally over a year, and the number one question people asked were "How will this ice queen be able to run her own talk show? Pfft". Well, they were alllllll wrong. Bethenny is the girlfriend you always wanted but never knew you were missing. She asks questions we were all secretly asking, and she doesn't sugar coat a goddamn thing. As far as daytime television goes--her show is utterly refreshing.

And surprisingly, she's just as refreshing in person. I've been around for one or two other celebrity apperances, and hell, even just seeing random celebrity interviews you can tell when a celeb just does not give a shit. You can see it in their face--they just want to leave and get this over with as soon as possible. And it makes everything awkward and painful for everyone involved. So, going into this Bethenny event, I had some reservations.

But she was AWESOME. She was so fun and so excited and really cared about being there. She was so gracious and grateful for all of us coming out to see her, and her excitement really lifted the spirit of the room. That and the cocktail specials.

Anyway, as my friend and I were leaving the event, a blogger stopped and asked us what we thought of her show. He wanted to know if we thought it was too risque, or too crass for T.V. Clearly, he thought so and you could tell he was looking for some female back up. He was getting none of it from me, that's for damn sure. I mean, come on, I'm so sick and tired of the talk shows who think they're "getting into it" by talking about how to most effectively cut coupons. Today's episode of Bethenny talked about whether or not "50 Shades of Grey" really does spice up a married couple's bedroom or not.

It's almost, ALMOST, as if the staff of Sexy Trash got together and made a daytime talk show.

Team Bethenny, always and forever.

Diva of the Week

This diva of the week has gone from a background song in a lip sync video to a songstress superstar.  Some of us here at SexyTrash have hopped on the video bandwagon along with many MANY others.  So without further ado, our Diva of the Week is, Carly Rae Jepsen.

It's no secret that I absolutely LOVE Call Me Maybe, and sometimes when driving in the car find myself searching through stations until I can find it on the radio.  Carly Rae started her success when Justin Bieber, who is also a good friend of hers, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, One Direction, and friends made a lip sync video...let me refresh your memory.

After hitting Youtube, the song became a sensation and videos were popping up EVERYWHERE!!!! You may remember some of the SexyTrash team making our own version....let me refresh your memory again...

Recently, we posted a video with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots singing with Carly Rae. It was very cool and a live version, unlike the lip syncs previously seen before.

Overall, we just love this girl and can't wait for more from her in the future.  We'll be downloading and hoping it can live up to the hype and success of Call Me Maybe.

So here's to you Miss Carly Rae, our Diva of the Week and singer of our summer or better yet, YEAR ROUND jam.

Call Me Calvin

If you're like us, you spend most of your day thinking about/listening to "Call Me Maybe." If you're really like us, you take the thinking a step further and create Youtube videos/have dance parties/obsess over the song and its songstress, Carly Rae Jepsen.

It's good to know we're not alone. Famous DJ Chi Duly created a mash-up of sorts, combining Carly Rae's tune with some hot Calvin Harris beats (including "We Found Love").

To find your new obsession, listen below....

Jimmy Fallon & The Roots: Call Me Maybe

The song that has taken off the nation world is at it again... this time being covered by Jimmy Fallon. Sometimes the beat gets a little sloppy/weird, but it's still super cute and we won't bash anything that has to do with this song or Carly Rae. Unless it's five unattractive gays lipsyncing poorly to it... but we still pretend that video doesn't exist.

Pilot Prattle: Arrow

What is it about pretty CW girls having the power to watch super hero stuff we could normally give two shits about? First Blake Lively did it with Green Lantern and now our girl Katie Cassidy is doing it with Arrow, The CW's new pilot about Green Arrow.

While we prefer our Katie rich and bitchy, it's been a while since we've seen her in anything, so we'll take her however we can.

Pilot Prattle: Emily Owens, MD

Although a month behind other networks, The CW has finally released promos for their Fall 2012 pilots. At the top of our list is Emily Owens, MD (previously titled "First Cut"). There's nothing that sets it apart from Grey's Anatomy season one except it's supposed to have more of a high school feel, and the lead actress isn't as charismatic as Ellen Pompeo, but we're still going to give it a chance.

In the promo, Emily Owens is a surgical intern who has always been "the loser" in school. She's hoping that now that school is over, she'll get to be more than that, but she quickly learns that working in a hospital isn't much different than high school - there's mean girls, there's boys that don't like you, and there's still a lot of time spent trying to keep your head above water.

Fashion Friday: Summer Shoes

I wasn't feeling the best yesterday, so what else was there to do but go shopping?

While browsing Marshall's shoe section & the local DSW, I realized .... while my footwear collection is extensive, it lacks season versatility.  I have tons and TONS of shoes, but they're all safe.  I have nothing super colorful and I lack cute sandals.  With color-blocking SO in right now, I need to upgrade.

I've documented my want list and I just HAD to share this fabulous-ness.  Side note:  Can we give up on gladiator sandals already?  They should have been lost in the century they were created.  ugh.

Since I'm not so good with "save the best for last," here's my current fave.  I NEEEEEED THESE.
I died.  3 times over.  Neon pink & nude patent.  Thank you Mr. Steve Madden, you are a sheer genius.

You can never go wrong with an embellished sandal.  Here's a pair I tried on and really liked...
Shopping tip:  When you're looking a shoes, feel the inside sole of the shoe (where your foot goes).  Is it hard?  If it's hard to touch, how do you think those will feel to wear?  Terrible. I always judge my shoe buying on how squishy the inside sole is.

I own a grey pair of these but need many, many more...
TOMS are a favorite by all that have them.  Not only do they represent a great cause, they are oh-so-comfy & soooo light-weight!  I wear them anytime I know I'm going to be on my feet all day because the arch support is A-MA-ZING.

This is how you do heels in the summer...
Peep-toes (I'm into the nautical feel lately, can you tell?).  Grab a color-blocked a peep-toe for the office or get a standard nude for all of the spring & summer weddings you have.  These are Jessica Simpson - I speak from experience her shoes are COMFORTABLE.  There's a reason she was on Fashion Star, girlfriend knows her stuff.

Did you know "jellies" were back in style??

While I'm not a fan...have you ever tried these things on (I mean after the late 90s)?? COMFORTABLE.  Ugly, but comfy.  Here's another take on jellies...
I saw something very similar at DSW, tried it on and fell in love.  The bow was TO DIE for and the shoe was oh so comfortable.

Those are the latest & greatest that I've run into.  What about you?  What's your favorite style for the warmer seasons? Share itttttt.
Until next time...XO,
Jes

She's just being Mrs. Liam Hemsworth

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 75th annual Hunger Gam.....oh not a post on the movie? Well it's finally official, teen idol Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus and Hunger Games star, Liam Hemsworth are engaged.

The couple managed to keep the engagement secret for just about a week, nothing is secret for long in Hollywood.  The on again off again couple met while working on the The Last Song. There were many rumors flying around this year that there was an engagement, but now its OFFICIALLY official.  Liam popped the question with a 3.5 carat diamond.....what a rock (and we're not just talking about his abs).

There's no wedding plans set for the couple, but Miley only being 19, we think they'll be waiting a bit.  Here's a toast to the happy couple, oops no alcohol for Miley, and our best wishes!

Diva of the Week

Our diva of the week is usually taking us for a ride on the HOT TAMALE TRAIN or making us hold our ears in preparation for her screams....either way, we have to love her and we're glad to have her back as we start this season of So You Think You Can Dance.  We're talking about that dancing diva, Mary Murphy.

Things just weren't the same a few years ago when Mary was not in the judging panel for SYTYCD, we missed the screaming, craziness, and the hot tamale train.  However, we did enjoy when she would come back and be featured in a dance number.  She really brings comedy and realness to the show, and we love her.

Many do not know that besides being a great dance, Mary is also an abusive relationship and thyroid cancer survivor.  Her first marriage was very unhappy and was full of physical and verbal abuse from her husband.  It lasted 9 years until she knew it was time for her to get out and leave.  She underwent treatment in 2011 for her cancer and is now surviving well and cancer free!!!!

SO we're ever to glad to have Mary back on SYTYCD and can't wait to see who will be riding the Hot Tamale Train.....WOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOO!  We leave you with her dancing on the show in a samba with Dmitry. Enjoy! Keep dancing our diva of the week....WAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

The Crackdown: Game Movies

Last week I had the "pleasure" of seeing the movie based on the classic game "Battleship". And that got me thinking about other movies that came from games...and might have been a little better.

The first one that popped into my head was "Jumanji", but for me the line is a bit blurred about which came first, the board game or the movie. Either way, it was a classic when I was 8, and I think secretly I'd love for Robin Williams to jump out of one of my old board games. Just as long as the misadventures stay where they are.

While I haven't seen it, "Clue" looks an absolute piss (and I mean that in a good way). From the bad 80's hair and cocktail dresses to the cheesey slap-sticky comedy, I think I'd actually find some redeeming qualities in the film (I also have a soft spot in my heart for 80s films; forgive me). Also, I think I found our editor's parents starring in this. Who knew Mrs. White and Miss Scarlet were together?

There's also the "Resident Evil" franchise. Now, video game based thriller's might not be your scene--trust me, they're sure as shit not mine--but when it comes to Resident Evil, an exception is most certainly easily made. Granted, I watched the first one from between my fingers, flinching at those damn dogs (if you've seen it, you know exactly what I'm talking about). The first two of the franchise were crazy good, and then after that things started to get weird. So, stick with the originals and you'll be golden.

Then there's "Lara Croft". I didn't see these either, but I imagine it couldn't have been too awful. I mean, there were at least 2 of them, right? If anything, I'm sure the guys went for the eye candy alone. If I were a guy, I probably would.

And finally, my thoughts on "Battleship".

What in the world plot was that? Who thought that up? In the beginning we meet Alexsander Skarsgard's screw up of a brother (who looks nothing like him, yet strangely like the star of that massive Disney flop, "John Cater"--we see you, Taylor Kitch, we see you). He goes out of his way to impress this hot blonde at a bar, and ends up with a burrito and flashing lights chasing after him. Oh of COURSE this girl is the navy admiral's daughter, the same admiral who commands ASKars. So he basically says to John Carter "Join the navy with me or gtfo". And of course he's still a screw up, he's just a screw up in uniform now. It's only until he's face to face with an alien invasion that he gets his shit together.

There was one scene that stood out above the rest as the most "WTF" scene I've ever witnessed in my life. Early on, the aliens isolate three navy ships via some crazy alien barrier. After the final ship is destroyed and our core heroes are floating in the water, that's when they all realize the battleship from the 1940's is still hanging out over by the dock. There was a ceremony on the ship in the beginning of the film, veterans were honored, our screw up was late--it was great. So as they climb aboard the ship, they soon realize the technology is so different, there's no way they could use it to fight off these aliens that just destroyed three new ships stocked with modern technology. Hell, they don't even know how to use it at all. But just when they start to give up....

The Veterans they honored in the beginning come up from below deck and offer their help. THAT'S RIGHT. THESE OLD ASS MEN WERE JUST HANGING OUT ON A SHIP WATCHING THE NAVY FIGHT ALIENS. And as they 80's classic "Thunderstruck" played over the "let's teach these youngsters how to run our ship" montage ran, it took everything for me to stay seated. And not fall over laughing.

The movie as a whole was fine. The plot was ridiculous, and the holes in said plot were gaping, but hey, did I get to see my favorite vamp in uniform? Yes. Did guys get to see Rihanna firing off an automatic weapon? Yes. Was everyone a little wet from playing in the ocean at the end of the day? Yes. So really, I guess I can't say audiences were too disappointed.

Fashion Friday: Summer-izing Your Jeans

I don't know about you, but I'm a huge fan of jeans.  I could wear them anywhere and I do, to work, to dinner, out with the girls ... I think the only place you may not find me in jeans would be a formal event like a wedding.  Or in summer.

I LOVE dresses in summer, they're my go-to.  However, sometimes my jeans stare at me on a 90degree day, begging me to wear them.  I've experimented with rolling my jeans, cuffed and/or capri jeans but at a staggering 5'2" that's hard to do.

Over the years, through incessant googling, I've found several ways that work for me and my short height. Great news, these tricks also work on those of you that have gotten a little luckier with the height thing.

Here are a two bloggers that I trust when it comes to rolling/cuffing my jeans properly...
This is Brittney from A Day in the Life Too
She's got cuffed jeans down pat - and she looks SO cute.  You need to see the whole post here.

With a name like EatSleepDenim.com, Jennine (the blogger) has cuffed jeans down pat.
This specific post (click) has 6 different ways to roll your jeans.

Now, let's put it to the test.  Is it stylish - can it be worn in the office (casual, obvi) and out?  You betcha.  Don't trust me?  Well I know who you do trust ... celebs.

Jenn is a lover of all rolled jeans. (source)

Amanda Pete, Katie Holmes & Rachel Bilson approve. source
Megan Fox does it in white. source

Last, but definitely not least, the cutest lady in hollywood - Reese Witherspoon.  While two of these pics may have the same jeans, I don't care - she's too darn cute ... even preggo!  I'd love to go shopping in her closet!

Even some of ST's favorite men have dabbled in a rolled jean or two...
source
That's that, folks.  If Reese can roll her jeans & wear flats with her short height, why can't I?  I will be rolling  my jeans this season.  How about you?
